Attention to registration and notification to KVKK Data Controllers Registry! Deadline 30.06.2020 !!
As it is known, in accordance with Article 16 of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (Law), real and legal persons who process personal data have to register with the Data Controllers Registry before starting the data processing.
• The period given to real and legal person data officers, whose annual number of employees is more than 50 or annual financial balance sheet total is more than 25 million TL, to fulfill the obligation to register and report to the Registry, 30.06.2020,
• The period given to the persons who are real and legal persons residing abroad to fulfill their obligation to register and report to the registry is 30.06.2020,
• The annual employee number is less than 50 and the annual financial balance total is less than 25 million TL, and the period given to the real or legal person responsible for private data processing whose main activity is to fulfill the obligation to register and report to the registry is 30.09.2020,
• The period given to the public institutions and agencies to fulfill their obligation to register and report to the registry is until 31.12.2020.
It is regulated by the provisions of Law No. 6698, which will cover administrative fines from 20 Turkish Liras to 1.000.000 Turkish Liras for those who are within the scope and act against the registration and notification obligation of the Data Controllers Registry.
